Weight Fluctuation

For those of you who monitor their weight daily, (I'm not saying you should or shouldn't or that it matters or that it's right or wrong- not trying to stir up a debate here) but for those of you who "do"... how long after over eating or a heavy meal does the weight set in? Is it immediate or do you notice it a few days later?

Just curious what other people experience with this. I ate a lot very late last night... I mean a LOT.... sort of like a second dinner, I thought for sure I was going to see a couple pounds increase- at least! But this morning I was only up 4 ounces. I am very happy about it, but it doesn't make sense to me.

I usually see a small spike like you had and then about a day later my weight will shift higher. I am dealing with weight gain as of late so I am pretty bummed. It probably won't be very much for you though!

I always try to eat light the day before I weigh in...only because it might show up because it's still sitting inside of you! LOL. I don't think it actually puts weight on that quickly.

I tend to see an increase of 1-4lbs the following morning after a bad day/naughty meal.

I don't believe it's true "weight" but generally my cheat meals are a chinese take away or an indian both of which are insanely high in salt. I think it's water retention from salt most of the time.

I only see the temporary increase if I have consumed a meal massivly loaded with salt or carbs (such as a big fat pizza!) and 3 or 4 days later it dissappears again.

I'm not sure if its possbile to gain from one day of debauchery, I think you would likely have to consume over 3000 or 4000 cals to see 1lb gain.

Mine goes anywhere from gaining 1 to 7 pounds a day going over 500 to 1000 calories. Dunno why it does it but it does.....

I noticed mine's delayed about 2-3 days. So sometimes I'll pig out, weigh myself, see the number hasn't gone up, eat more, and then... feel the aftereffects a couple days after that.
