My first day (Edit post)

Today Aug. 14, 2009 is my first day. My daughter has been talking about this sight for a while now so I thought the only thing I have to loose is weight and keeping my health. So here goes day one, and wow I have already screwed up. But I really didnt make the discision until after I ate what I did. And the water is always a plus, something I use to always drink plenty of. I once fread in a womans magazine that you should drink half your weight in water. Yea to some of you that sounds extreme. But what many of use seem to forget is, that 8 ounces, is,( 9 times out of 10) your short or small drinking glass in the cabinet. So we usually grab the largest one. Which of course is mostley a 12 or 16 ounce plastic cup or glass. So when you divide 16 ounces into half your weight it doesnt seem quite as drastic to drink, Besides its inly water and it cant hurt you. Unless you leave your bottle of water in a hot place or car. Then throw it away. Glass or metal containers is your best bet in the summer months. Gp back to plastic come colder days. I know as well as any one you need your one a day vitamin. So try them, they really help you. For those of us who may take one and they make you sick. 1: try a multivitamin w out iron. U see most woman much more then men retain their iron. So you may have enough iron in your body. Too much probably will make you feel a bit nasiated. 2: Always eat a little something with it. You know what so bad, I know as well as many more of us just what is good for us and what we need to live a long life. But because of us not paying attention to what we stick in our mouths,( I'm guilty of that), we then tell ourselves,(" wellllll..... I will start fresh tommorow.") Well guess what it is tomorrow and we cant keep starting fresh every day. You are still you and still thinking the same way and still sitting on your duff and Haaaa guess what you are probably a few pounds heavier. No More AGREEING WITH YOUR REASONING. or should I say that little evil voice!!! NO MORE!!!!

Between the easy to use food counter (which by the way is SUCH an eye opener!) and all the wonderfully supportive members, you WILL be able to lose the weight that you want to, AND, it'll "almost" be easy doing it!
I recommend logging ALL your foods BEFORE you have them, rather than later, as it tends to lead to better food choices. (not to mention you'll know if you've got enough numbers left to have a night time snack, like I ALWAYS try to do!) Some people also like to weigh and measure some things, such as meats, rather than just estimating and possibly being WAY off! :noway:
Don't go making the mistake that if you have LOTS of numbers left at the end of the day that you'll lose even faster, because that DOESN'T happen. Feel free to read any info about the site in the "help" section at the top of the home page. And also, under "all topics", then "general", and check out the first few threads. They'll really help you understand how MFP works.
Before coming here, I had tried just about EVERYTHING out there, including hypnosis, TWICE, and nothing really worked until MFP!
Drink LOTS of water, it REALLY DOES help! :drinker:
As for exercise, it doesn't always have to be awful. For my exercise, I walk almost every day, (weather permitting!) I also dance to a fast oldies CD that my husband made up of all my favorite old songs. (Like "Love Shack", Wild, Wild West", "Mony, Mony", "Footloose", and "Gloria")
It's free, (unlike a gym!) fun, and I can even watch tv at the same time, so I never get bored! :happy:
I also recently aquired the Wii Fit, and jog to that, which is a lot of fun, and easy too!
So, to make a LONG story short, make good food choices, eat in moderation, get some exercise, and you WILL lose the weight that you want to!0 -
