I think I'm holding a lot of water, my weight can fluctuate 3-5lbs throughout the week. I am drinking water - plenty of, but do you think I might need to use water retention tablets?
Has anyone used these?

It will come off after your period.0

It may be from exercising. I know tea and coffee are natural direutics, but as long as the tablets are safe you could see if they change anything.0

I'm not sure if it will help you, but when I was pregnant my midwife suggested lemon water to reduce water retention and swelling. I know drink it the week of AF and its helping.0

I am with you. My body retains water badly. For example, I was three pounds heavier when I weighed this morning than I was last Thursday. I know it is bloat because I can feel it. I also just got off of my period. I usually bloat bad during my period and for about a week after. I have never tried the pills, though. I would like to hear from anyone with this same problem as well.0

I swear I hold up to 10lbs maybe more of water. I think it's related to salt intake as well.0

What's your sodium intake like? I experienced that a lot when I wasn't monitoring my sodium.
Also, your period is the *kitten* that will mess with your weight when you're doing everything right.... the week before through the week after can be affected.0 -
Do you eat lots of salty foods? That will make you retain water too.
My weight tends to go up on the weekends because that's when I'm hanging out with the family and dining out. The salt in those foods always make me weigh more on Mondays than on Fridays. If I'm diligent about drinking 9-12 glasses of water a day, it will gone by Wednesday.0 -
If the only "symptom" is your weight fluctuating, I wouldn't resort to pills. Even with drinking lots of water, weight can fluctuate and still be healthy.0

Does anyone know what your sodium intake should be? I'd like to monitor mine.0

Put me down with the group that mentioned watching sodium! When I watch my sodium levels it really does help the bloating.:happy:0

The average person should be around / under 2300-2400 (mg).... you do need sodium for muscle/nerve function and development.... I try to keep it between 1500-2000 (mg) daily because my body is sensitive to sodium and I bloat like a dead horse in the summer.0 -
Check your food diary for possible high sodium culprits (Note...there is often more salt in prepared food then the manufacturer is admitting!)...Speaking from experience be suspicious of things like prepared canned soup! The only way that you can be absolutely sure about the real amount of sodium being put in your food is to prepare it from scratch.0

daily water pills will help but 90% of the time it is because of high sodium levels,0
