Hello.
I've been using the myfitnesspal app on my phone for a while now. Only recently have I really started to throw myself into being more serious about my weight loss goals and progress. My goal is to lose at least 30lbs, and bring my BMI down to a more healthy range. I want to have a breast reduction surgery done, but the surgery I originally saw wants me to lose 50 lbs before he would do the surgery. Now... I feel this is a bit extreme, as do my friends, family and family doctor. So... 30lbs is good enough for me, and if it's not for him... Well, then I'll have to find a different surgeon.

I've actually never been a huge fan of heavier foods or sauces... So, eating healthier in that aspect isn't really an issue. However... I do love my sweets, so watching and restricting those is what takes some effort.

I do enjoy working out, but I lack a lot of free time. I recently graduated from college where I double majored and triple minored... I'm taking a year off before going back for my MS, PhD and MD... That's ten more years of school that I plan on doing back to back. You add on the fact that I work a full time job that ranges anywhere from 30 to 50 hours of work a week... It leaves me for little time for me. So... When I do have a day off... I rather paint... write... read... play (a video game or instrument)... Something for me... But now that needs to include working out... And well... Sometimes that just doesn't feel as relaxing.

But now you know a little about me... I would love to make some new friends and have some extra support... Really that's the best motivator. :-)

    Well hello fellow academic-minded person!

I think we should be friends (feel free to add me!) as I understand the crazy academic schedule AND I've had a breast reduction.

I'm 5'5 looking to lose about another 15-20 pounds to bring me from 160-135ish.

    Anyway, welcome!
