Why didn't the doofus cross the road?

That's what I'd like to know! Today, I am riding my bike on a four lane road, speed limit 35. I'm about 10 minutes from home, and going along about 20 mph. Suddenly, this guy steps into the street (not a crosswalk) and I think he's going to go on and cross. Wrong! He stands there and doesn't move!!! Not only did I have to swerve to miss him, so did the driver of a car behind me! My parting shot was "Watch what you're doing, stupid!!" :angry: I'm glad nobody hit him, but what was he thinking???!!! Okay, this isn't really chit-chat, but there is no topic entitled "ranting."

    I don't know the answer, but I'm guessing you don't live in the Seattle area. That guy would have been road kill. Drivers around here will speed up if they see someone trying to cross the street if they're not at a cross walk.
