How much have you lost in 10 days?

I'm going to Cancun in 10 days. I had a great plan to lose 10 pounds before the trip - but here it is and what do you know, I've actually gained a couple pounds.

I plan on eating all vegetables and fruit for the next 10 days coupled with at least 30 minutes of exercise each day. I've never done a strict diet before so I have NO clue what result to expect.

Can you please share your weight loss experience in a short amount of time (and how you did it)? Thank you!

Sorry, I should have clarified. I do not expect to lose 10 pounds! I was thinking max 5 but I'm asking because I'm not even sure if that is possible...

I had to drop some weight for a martial arts competition where you fight in weight bands. I did it by having a salad for lunch and fruit with no-fat plain yoghurt for dinner. I also ran for about an hour each day plus the martial arts training. Lost about 5 kg in the fortnight but overshot my target weight (ie was too low) and was weak for the tournament. Worked but not a long term solution or even healthy. Got v sick shortly after and don't think that's a coincidence.

10 days is not enough time to drop a substantial amount of weight in a healthy way. Be careful in whatever you decide to do.

My concern would be that you do manage to lose the weight, and then when you are on vacation you eat like you're on vacation... you will likely gain it all back while you are there. Crash diets do tend to result in immediate weight gain once you are off them.

Posts like this are complete idiocy. There is NOTHING healthy that will allow you to lose 10 pounds in 10 days except maybe an amputation.

Get a pixie cut, cut your finger nails really short, clean your ears and nose out, poop as often as possible and remove all jewelery.

the best thing you can do to maximize weight loss without sacrificing lean muscle is:

    Nutrition:
eat only skinless chicken breasts and low carb veggies (this means no legumes, no potatoes, no tomatoes (a fruit) and no corn (a grain).
drink a gallon of water a day

    Exercise:
resistance training, preferably with weight that you can do no more than 8 reps of per set (i.e., lift relatively heavy....or do bodyweight exercises to failure).
