What is that? Body mass index or something? What is it, how do I get mine, and what do I do with it?? Thanks for any responses!

There are two ways to get your information.

Click the tools tab, then on the bottom left there will be BMI calculator and it gives you a summary of what it is and means.

The other is to go to google, and do a search on BMI.

Seeing as how it doesn't take body composition into account, BMI is useless for your purposes

She doesn't know what BMI and she surely didn't state what her purposes were. Not that I disagree it's not very useful, you just assumed a whole lot.

Seeing as how she posted in a subforum called "General Diet and Weight Loss Help", I think I can reasonably guess what her purposes are.

BMI is fine for average people, which is most people. If you have enough muscle to throw off your BMI you're probably not going to be checking it except for LOLz anyway.

What other forum could she have really posted it in? You said yourself it says General. I'm just busting your balls.

True, she may just be interested in analyzing the diagnosis of obesity in the general population. We will just have to wait and find out :glasses: .

BMI is one data point. It has its uses, and its limitations.
