I used nutrisystem in about 1990 when I was in grad school, working full time, and didn't cook or exercise much. The food was awful, but I did lose weight. Back then you bought it in person at a Nutrisystem office and got weighed, measured, and attended meetings.
Now that I enjoy cooking and value good-tasting food, I would not use such a program.0 -
I considered it, but the food looks sooo gross! My Mom's friend lost a lot of weight on it though - I think close to 100 lbs.0

I lost 20 lbs on Nutrisystem, ... but gained it all back and then some. The system says it teaches you how to eat, but it doesn't really. I tried to get back on it, but I really kept putting it off because I really didn't want to eat the food again.
I went to a weight loss management program instead at a local hospital here. They me how to eat, and when to eat.
I am much happier making this lifestyle change rather then eating the prepackaged food and I am saving money.0 -
I tried it about 3 years ago. It was AWFUL!! I was always hungry, the food tasted terrible and they kept sending me the wrong meals. I did lose about 20lbs on it... then gained it all back within 3 months of being off it. Its a quick fix, but doesnt lead towards long term weight maintenance.0

I was a Big Lots recently shopping and in the food section was nutrisystem soup for $1. I saw that and felt like if they are now selling the stuff in little side stores for a $1 then it must taste awful.0

I was on it about 3 years ago and lost about 35 pounds pretty quickly. There are some terribly foods but you learn quickly not to reorder them.... I personally liked a lot of the food - especially the lunch and dinners. Loads of pasta options which I enjoy. I was getting lots of fiber so I was clogging the toilet a LOT, because if just flushed everything you put in right on out. If I could afford it I would be on it again.... I think it's worth the investment. I was able to keep most of the weight off for about 2 yrs then gained it back because I moved to Vegas and started drinking daily. Oops.0

Like other "food delivery" diets, unless you're willing to eat that way the rest of your life, chances are that you'll regain. The key to weight loss and maintenance is learning how to eat the way you like to and controlling portions.
