I'veI felt this burning pain in my stomach a couple times this wk but It wouldn't last that long and was very mild in pain,
Today, I woke up around 5am and ever since I have been awake I have had that same burning pain in my stomach day long! :/
On a pain scale I would say half the day it was around a 4-6 then shot up to about a 8 now I'd say its about a 5 again..
I tried to take an alka seltzer and that did nuthing. So mid day I took sum tums and pepto bismol that didn't help much either and usually pepto works wonders for me with stomach problems.

I'm wondering if it could be cuz I overate last night at my cousins party. Also, I dont normally eat hot sauce, but there was some homemade spicy hot sauce and I liked it So I had alot of it with my chips.

I also didnt want to eat after lunch which was just 20crackers as I didnt want food. AND I LOOOOVE FOOD really I do!

any idea what it could be, I still feel mild pain but not as bad as earlier. If it persists or gets worse I will go to the ER as I dont have a DR. but yea. till then just bed resting.

I honestly couldn't say what is going on, perhaps an ulcer. Really though, just go to the doc. Hope it's nothing serious, but no sense in putting it off.

If it persists or worsens then yea I will go in..
My boyfriend said he had this same feeling awhile back and it was cuz he had an ulcer.
Dont know how or why I would get one? Im barely drink and usually only catch a buzz once a month or every other month, if that.
He said it could also be "acid reflux".. So idk

Try drinking some milk / water or even some Sprite. Laying down is probably not the best thing to do if it is too much acid in the stomach, try sitting up at least propping yourself up a bit with some pillows. Hope that helps, feel better!

Easy to say "just go to the doctor" ... but when most people these days do not have healthcare or over a hundred bucks for a doctor visit, it's not so easy to do. Not until problems are way out of hand, if at all. Sad but true ..
Sounds like you are already looking into possible causes of the issue. Continue to keep track of what you eat and what seems to set it off. Try eating really mild foods, avoiding soda/grease/spicy foods, and also be aware that over-use of products such as alka seltzer and pepto bismol can create problems on their own.

^ Thanks yea I know right now =s no health insurance so with problems just wait to see if they worsen before goin in to the ER.
I have never taken alka seltzer before and as for pepto I use to use it all the time but I havent had it in a long while till today :/
    Idk this feeling just sucks!

I had similiar symptoms and it was acid reflux. I also felt like my stomach was expanding and pushing my ribs. I was advised to not eat fats, dairy, alcohol, drinks with caffeine (black tea, coffee, soft drinks) or gluten for a couple of days and was also given some meds, it cleared up in about two days.

The circumstances sounds the same too; I was dieting, living very cleanly and then went to a party.

I would still recommend seeing a doctor though. There might be other underlying issues.

Where is the pain? I mean, what part of the stomach? Are you sure it's the stomach?

If it's on the right hand side and just below the ribs, it could be gall bladder, especially if the meal where you overate was had a lot of fat.

But, yes, get to a doctor.

    ^Thanks for all the advice!

Today I was able to eat breakfast just fine and no more burning pain which is a major relief!
I'm thinking it sounded alot like acid reflux as well...So, def gonna watch what I eat and monitor how I feel from certain food intake.

Where is the pain? What quadrant of the stomach? Left, right, upper, lower?

sounds like an ulcer, heart burn, or maybe even your appendix. I would go consult a doctor

I've had a couple ulcers and have acid reflux. The burning is uncomfortable but should be treatable with over the counter heart burn medicine.

When I had the full blown ulcer I couldn't eat, was throwing up uncontrollably...couldn't even keep water down. If it's coming and going keep an eye on what you eat and try a few heartburn medicines...some work for me and some do nothing.

Could be an ulcer, but I had a friend that recently had the same thing happening to him. Stomach pain woke him up in the middle of the night one time, he went to the doctor the next day and after a couple tests found out he had Crohn's Disease. But you would probably have other symptoms like severe diarrhea.

I had some kind of weird burning sensation in my tummy. I thought it was the after effects of having my wisdom teeth out a few days before and finally eating "real food" again. Turned out I was pregnant.

Pepcid Complete (or a generic) is what works best for me...even better than my prescription PPI's...it's ingredients are calcium carbonate, famotidine and magnesium hydroxide...I've had horrible burning just from reflux that would wake me up in the night and was just unbearable. Maybe try something like this first?

I woke up just fine today everyone! thanks again.. Um, yea Im gonna have to say I think it could have been acid reflux my symptoms were similar. I DIDNT have nausea or diarrhea. But I could hear like gurgling noises and possible gas bubbles in my tummy when It was burning... If it happens again I will def. get it checked out. But I ate just fine today and worked out and did everything normal.. THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!!! :)
