Right # of calories

I sometimes wonder if the total calorie goal is right...I always thought people should eat about 1700 to 2000 calories a day, especially if you are active and MFP goal is 1220, which seems so low. I do "earn" calories through my daily workouts. I exercise every day usually 40 minutes or more, including two days a week when I go on two-hour bike rides (at least during the summer). I just sometimes feel like 1220 is just too low (and I have lost about 5 lbs since starting last fall and would like to lose a few more...)
Thanks!

I had this same question!! I had to increase my calorie count by about 500 on the days I work out AND eat the calories I burn.. I wasnt losing ANYTHING. Also pay attention to the carb, sugar, protein percentages. I think this matters more than the calories if you can get the right formula for your body.

If you think the goal is wrong then why don't you change it? Five pounds since last fall is really not what I'd call success, to be honest.
