Activity level?

So, I selected Active as my activity level when setting up my goals. But, I work Mon-Thurs sitting at a desk. I selected this level because work out 6-7 days per week, sometimes more than once per day. I will usually run or do cardio in the am, ride the stationary bike on my 15 minute break in the afternoon and then do a bit of strength training in the evening. The other days of the week are spent keeping up with an active 2 year old. Do you think I have selected the correct activity level? I REALLY like to maximize my calories and I eat every one of them that I earn working out, so it is very important I get the activity level right.

Thanks in advance!

If you're sitting at a desk all day for work, I'd select sedentary and then eat back all the exercise calories that I earn. I do them same--and also have a 2-year-old (they're killer, aren't they?).

if you want to track your calories burned during exercise, i.e you have a HRM then i would select a sedentary and then add exercise, and then eat your exercise calories on top or keep to as you are and just eat your calories but don't eat back exercise as that's already been accounted for in your calorie total.

you should not add your exercise to your activity level . as when you do exercise and enter it in your diary mfp add those cals back onto your daily cals allowance , your activity level is your general daily activity (excluding your runnig gym etc this is purposefull exercise )

I'd say give it a month and see what happens. Have you tried calculating your TDEE, this site is pretty good.

As long as you are eating between your TDEE and BMR you should be fine.

I checked this site and filled it out as accuratley as possible:
    http://www.health-calc.com/diet/energy-expenditure-advanced

It says by BMR is 1479 and my TDEE is 3158

after eating my work out cals I am usually right at 1500 for each day, so maybe I should be a little lower? I have been losing consistantly since Feb, but it has really slowed down at this point as I only have 10-15 more pounds to go. I am buying a HRM within the next week and will be using that to make sure I am more accurate on by burn each day. I am also starting Jillian's body revultion on Monday and am hoping that will help to.

I ran my goals as sedentary and it put me around 1230 calories for the day. Which, to be completley honest, is very depressing. When I started this I refused to call it a diet as it is and should be a lifestyle change. So far, I havent been hungry, but I really think I would be at 1200 per day. Maybe I can start doing lunges and walk in place while I sit at my desk? lol I do work at a desk most of the day Mon- Thurs, but I am extremely fidgety and rarely sit down when I am at home. For exersize I only add in the intentional workouts that are intense such as running and those killer biggest loser workouts, I never add in the running through the yard with the kid or hours of cleaning i seem to do every week, lol. Come to think of it, I get up and walk around frequently during the day as well. I suppose my main cincern is not eating enough. I made that mistake when I started this journey and my weight loss came to a screeching halt after about 3 weeks. Besides that I felt weak and very tired.

I opened up my diary if anyone is interested in looking and would like to offer some input on maximizing calories. Today is not a typical day as we are low on groceries, but every day this week has been. I am not sure what I am looking for, but anything that stands out to you as an issue I wouldn't mind re-evailuating.

Oh, and as of right now I have it set to lighlt active instead of sedentary. I previously had it on active. :)

I workout 6/7 days a week, and have a desk job.

I put myself as sedentary, and add in my workout calories although I don't always eat them all back.
