Trying again with a new hunger

I have fought with my weight since my first pregnancy in 1997 and I was 20. I have had some mild successes before but always find the weight coming back, usually due to emotional eating. I now find myself 32, a single mom of three, working full time with a long commute, needless to say, I have put myself last for so long. Now I am trying to take care of myself, eating better (hopefully this website will help) and hitting the gym during my lunch hour...but I already feel discouraged. Hahaha...everything else in my life has to be now! Why can't my weightloss be that way too?!?! hahaha I know, I know that is unrealistic. I welcome any and all cheerleaders, sometimes I think we are so hard on ourselves and our failures to see our accomplishments.
Thanks!
Also, where do I find the groups to join and is there one for single moms?

Dont get discouraged. It will come off One pounds at a time. Remember we did not gain it all in an nanosecond and it wont come of that way Think of it this way in one week if you lose half a pound thats half a pound gone. Some weeks its will be more and some it will be nothing. Remember your not on a diet but you are changing your whole way of eating for the better. You a Mom thin of it this way it took your beautiful kids 9 months to grow ( and they usally weigh aroung 7 to 8 lbs at birth so you will lose weight faster that it take to have a baby. (weird way of thinking I know but it puts it all into propective)

First of all, Pam, i love that analogy.
Second, racefan, you really should listen to pam, you will loose the weight and we are all here to support you. As far as groups go, its mostly here in the forums. If you for instance, want to join a running group, you can either find one (most likely under fitness and excersize) or you can start your own, you will be suprized how many people will join up and check in with each other every day.
also, if you are looking for quick, easy healthy snacks/meals that you can eat on the run, check out my blog "The Healthy Version". I try to find healthy recipes for the girl (or guy) on the run. most of the time, people are so busy they stop by mcdonalds or whatever and call it good. I think that there is a cheaper, healthier and just as (if not more) satisfying way to eat. I am guessing as a single mother of three, you might welcome some ideas. Your kids might really like the root beer float idea that i put on there. check it out, and feel free to add me as a friend. good luck girly! You can do it!0 -
