So im going out tomorrow with friends to the Olive Garden. Im trying to not eat anything too off the wall in calories. I am a vegetarian and I usually get the salad and soup. I like the minestrone soup but I just checked it is only 100 calories but the sodium is around 1200 for 1 bowl that is crazy. Anyone any suggestions of healthier things to get off the menu???

You can order any of their pastas as whole wheat.... I would say the apricot chicken, but since you are a vegetarian.....I have done just the whole wheat pasta with marinara before- don't remember the calories, but its not that bad. They do have a nutritional site you can check for other options!
  • When I had to go there for a function with the in-laws, I ordered spaghetti marinara but only ate half (sent the other half home with brother in-law), ate 1 breadstick, and got my salad with dressing on the side so I could dip my fork in. Other than that, we did get coffee for dessert (instead of real dessert)--overall, however, I am not really a fan of olive garden, so I was trying to simply share the dining experience without completely derailing my day. Also, check out their website for nutrition info like the above poster suggests. Have fun! =-)
