MapMyRun.com -- Different workout calories on this website a

Hi All,

I use 'map my run' to figure out how far I've walked and what speed I've walked so that I can enter it into my daily exercise tracker on here.

mapmyrun.com always tells me I've burned about 1/3 less the calories that it says on here.

My question is this:

IS THERE ANYONE OUT HERE WHO EATS ALL THEIR CALORIES PLUS THEIR EXERCISE CALORIES AS STATED ON MYFITNESSPAL.COM AND STILL LOSES WEIGHT?

I eat all of my exercise calories - it's pretty rare that I don't eat every single one of them. I'm down at least 12 lbs since June 29th when I "re-started" MFP.

Hello. I am also curious about this as I just noticed the same thing today, mapmywalk calculated about 1/3 less calories than this website. Mapmywalk does ask for weight, height, age, etc... I am not sure if this website has a generic calorie calculator (based on speed and length/time) or does it also take into account our profile information. Has anybody else has come across this?

What numbers should I use in my exercise log?

I found this article today, and it seems to answer the question somewhat. Hope this helps others. I am sure the exact calorie count still depends on other factors. I am considering purchasing a heart monitor. Or maybe once I spent more time working on my weight loss, I will get a better feel for it without having to rely on calorie count as much...
