Howdy, started up MFP a few weeks ago with a couple friends. Been lurking here for a few days looking for tips. I started out around 211-213 6'3". My current goal is to get to 190. Then I want to add more muscle. I'm at about 199-200 now.

Welcome! So you want to lose weight and then pack on muscle? You can actually do both but the weight may not be as evident since muscle weighs more than fat. The true measure would how your clothes fit and more definition in your physique.0

Yeah and I'm afraid (not sure that it's a bad thing) that I've started doing that... I got to 200 ish pretty quick. But the scale has stalled out there. Part of it is on my weightlifting days my workouts have become more intense (less reps / heavier weight) and so I think I'm adding on muscle as fast as I'm loosing weight/fat. I still think an IDEAL weight for me will be closer to 190 or the low 190s unless I start to look like a body builder. At 200 most programs put my BMI at around 25. I can still pinch too much on my belly that I don't care to get out a caliper just yet. I figure at around 190 my BMI should be closer to 20%. I'd like to live in the 15-20% range and have enough muscle that I don't look skinny.0
