Why is it so hard!?!?

Why is it so hard to take a recovery day after you have been working out without any lags??? I know our bodies get used to it and after it becomes a habit it is also basically an addiction. I told myself that I wasn't going to run today...I'm still under my calories even after having Mexican for lunch and a Pale Moon beer...but I AM DYING, itching to go out, run, and sweat my *kitten* off!!!

Anyone with any words of wisdom?!?!

I take recovery days as I need them, but I don't force myself to be inactive. In fact, my last one, I mowed the lawn. Do what feels right to you. This week has sucked for me working out because I'm not feeling so hot and I'm slammed at work and home. Hence, more days off. Next week, assuming this crud ever leaves my household, I'll be back at it for 5 days.

I've been doing 6 days on...and "forcing" myself to take one. I know muscles need time to recover and the science of it all does support that...it's just weird to sit now

In that case, what about doing something different? Like going for a nice evening walk, throwing around a dog toy, etc?
