What can I do at the pool while my son swims?

We go to the public pool and my son swims. I do not swim--have never been able to.
I am curious to know what would be some good toning type exercises I can do in the pool while he plays? (He's 11 so I can do my thing while he does his.)
I mostly need things that wouldn't take a lot of space just in case the pool is packed.
Thanks:)!

I do water aerobics, or water jogging.. Get yourself a pair of water weights and a noodle and do toning exercises in the water.. If that helps any0

You can still go in the pool. I used to be a lifeguard for the city of Chicago. You can do walking exercises in the pool. Walking in water creates resistance and you burn calories. Also, if you soak yourself up to high chest or neck level it helps with sodium regulation.0
