Hi All,

Anyone got any advice for hints tips for hangover days (usually Sundays) for some reason there is a tiny little switch in my head which flicks to off when I know its A. A Sunday and B. Hungover........So I go on what can only be described as a day long feeding frenzy which starts with good intentions and ends with a bloated tummy and feelings of total guilt !!!!! Plus its not even worth it because I can't even taste the food due to being absolutely hungover to bits!!!!!! And I'm aware of the obvious DRINK LESS, but thats just not gona happen, I'm Irish.

  • Fellow Paddy here and I could have written that post! I reckon its weekends that make me fat. I am grand during the week. I enjoy eating salads and healthy foods, but I'm a disaster at weekends. I like a few scoops myself, :drinker: which, in itself is bad, but then there is the cheese on toast when I come home (that's when I am good and avoid the chipper!) and the salt, fat and chocolate cravings all the next day. I wish I could follow my own advice......

1: Drink loads of water - it will fill your tummy so less crap can fit in!
2: Choose wisely - oven chips rather than chipper chips. Fried egg done with spray oil, rather than in veg oil, low fat versions of saussages etc. Grill the meat, rather than fry it. Pack up the fry with mushrooms, tomatoes, onions and go easy on the meat and spud.
3: Get out of the house an walk - I know all I want to do is veg out on the couch, but walking or swimming (or any excercise of your choice!) really makes the hangover feel better and helps excercise off all those empty alcohol calories.

HTH and I am waiting to read other replies!
  • I'm in the exact same boat - being an Irish female too!! What is it with us Irish - we like to have the craic WAY too much - the ONLY thing that makes me feel human the next day is eating rings around myself of really bad food - chipper and frys!!!

I think the thing is deffo cut down on the alcohol! I know its hard ( I think I poisoned myself on Friday night so still in the "never drinking again phase"

    Good luck

English gal here, who also likes her drink! :drinker:

Last Friday night was one too many vodka diet cokes but they were only 100 calories per serving so I tried to keep count!

So Saturday morning I had the vodka headache. After a struggle with the sofa (and a healthy Subway sandwich) I actually managed to get out and do my rollerskate around the park, TWICE in one hour, and I felt so much better for it. My new hangover cure is now excercise, it really does work!

Can't say much for this morning...1 dry currant bun seems to have helped so far and I am sat at my desk  I am going to have to jog up and down the stairs at lunch time.
  • Well, any hangovers at the weekend? :drinker:

I was very good this time. I got such a shock last week when I gained 5lbs :embarassed: . My weigh-in is tomorrow, so hopefully my new puritanical lifestyle will have paid off!
