145 days in and discouraged

So, my profile says I have logged in for 145 days continuously, and I know I have had a bit of trouble in the last week, but I have only lost 17lbs. I dont know whether to feel happy because I have lost something or discouraged because it isnt much. I am not ready to post photos yet as I cant see any difference, but at 17lbs I am not sure if I would anyway. I still have a long way to go (I am 5'9 and weigh 15st 11) and really struggle to get motivation to do exercise. I have downoaded the c25k podcasts and am hoping to start that next week but with two demanding teenagers, a demanding mum, a physically demanding job (I am a teaching asssistant) I dont seem to have much energy left at the end of the day.
I dont want to seem defeatest but anyone with any ideas will be very welcome.
(ps) I know I havent logged my food for a couple of weeks, but am back on it now and ready to go.

the key is to eat healthy, dont go over your calories for the day and excerse, and drink atleast 8 cups of water. great job on losing 17lb but if you want to lose more you gotta put more effort in logging in. Good luck0

Wow! I was just feeling that same way today....I feel like I am doing almost everything I should and have not yet seen the progress I would like. I am 5' 10 and I cannot get out of the 190's.
Today I was feeling like "what's the point I might as well eat the cake my niece just made" lol
I guess I will just try and remind myself that slow and steady wins the race.0 -
Hi,
Please don't be discouraged. It's hard to get motivated especially when you're doing it alone. I spent over 15yrs as a personal trainer, avid runner and weight lifter. I had motivation...actually, a bit obsessive. Then, I got sick and all that ended for a while. I gained 100lbs! Yes, talk about an eye opener. I'm only 5'3", so can you imagine!? You're a beautiful girl and you just need to find things that you can do that will burn calories. You said you have kids...what's their ages? I love dancing with my girls. Have you tried using those rubber bands? I have them by my reclliner so when I watch my favorite shows...I grab the bands, put them under my feet and do some curls and other exercises...and not even realize it! I even do crunches in bed while I'm watching my DVR'd shows I missed during the week. Lay on your back, push your belly button in like you're pushing into the mattress. With my head resting on a pillow, I lift one leg about a foot off the bed. Hold this until you feel the burn in your stomach...then switch. You can also lay on your side and do leg lifts..while watching TV. Believe me, you'll feel the workout and not even realize you're doing it!
Keep in touch!

If it helps I usually feel like I have more energy after a workout! Also the more you lose the more motivated you get so get back to it!!0

You've lost 17 pounds! That is amazing. As long as you are making healthier choices you should be proud of yourself. Keep up the great work and try not to stress and let everything fall into place.0

Do the kids like swimming? Swimming burns crazy mad calories. Just a suggestion if you don't have time to hit the gym alone.0
