I'm thinking about having a shake for breakfast and lunch, but with uni that would involve me taking it there. I was wondering how I'd go about this, since you'd use milk and I'd not want it to go off throughout the morning?
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!

How about keeping your milk separate until you need to use it or just give it a go and see what happens.0

Some brands you can get shakes 'to go' so all you have to do is put a straw in them. I'd go for that or get a brand that you mix with water rather than milk so you can take the powder and shaker with you and then just find some water to mix.0

...Or a thermal/insulated bag w/ an ice pack?0 -
I use slimfast shakes and if like you cannot have one at lunch then have one at breakfast then a normal meal for lunch and then a shake for tea that way you get the best of both. good luck and hope this is of some help0

I'm not trying to be a wise-azz but there are fewer people logged in during the wkend, particularly at the time that you posted. (3AM in my time zone.) :flowerforyou:
ETA: In other words, I wouldn't take something like that personally!!!0 -
Not sure what kind of shakes you want, but I mix my whey protein with just water, so it's really portable. If I were doing a meal replacement type of shake though, I may want a small blender so I can put in a banana and some other stuff. If you want it thicker then you may need ice, which you'll need a blender for. So it depends on what you're looking for. My protein from GNC is awesome, but I wouldn't eat just that for breakfast and lunch. I would be hungry and would not be getting enough nutrients. Can you maybe have a shake for breakfast and a big salad for lunch????? Just a question.0

Maybe take the blended fruit part then just buy/beg some milk at the uni cafeteria/refectory to combine and shake?
Alternatively - do they do shakes at uni?
Maybe ask/suggest that they start making shakes/smoothies to order??0 -
Here in South Africa, I have seen shakers which have an ice block inside them, either as a separate part or built into the plastic if that makes sense. you also get similar for cereal. They also have a separate compartmet for the powder. So you pop the ice block section in the freezer overnight. In the morning you put the milk in the bottom, pop the powder in its own little section and then when you are ready to make it you just mix the two and shake. I am sure they must have similar things whereever you are. Sorry, I dont think I explained it very well, but I know you get similar juice bottles.0

You can buy milk that doesn't need to be refrigerated until the package has been opened but I'm not sure if it's available in 250ml or 500ml packages (which would be about what you need for your shakes)
Unless the temperatures are very high milk won't spoil for a few hours unrefrigerated,as a kid we used to get milk at school that was definitely tepid by lunch time (yup, I'm that old) and kept sandwiches with may in our lockers.....I don't recall anyone dieing.:laugh:0 -
Thanks guys, I think I'll look into either a re-fridgerated container, or go with swapping the shake for a dinner meal.
Also, I forget about different time zones, I automatically thought people would be on since it was the afternoon here, haha. Sorry I didn't mean to come across as rude either, I was just sort of joking/feeling left out haha.0
