I want to get used to burbee related exercises

I have to admit it, I don't like burbee related exercises. Is there a way of slowly getting used to them? I just don't like doing them, unless my personal trainer "forces" me to. They are really awkward for me. I have no idea why though...

I had read about a '100 Burpee Challenge' on another website...

Basically day 1, 1 burpee, day 2, 2 burpees, etc. You don't have to do them all at once, but you have to complete each day. If you miss a day, you do the missed day's burpees the next day... in addition to that day's burpees.

This seems like a way to slowly condition your body to get used to them. It's only one more each day.

You're not going to like my answer... practice, practice, practice. I hated them when I started working with a trainer to get more fit. Actually, ALL the higher impact stuff felt awkward. But, truly, if you stick with it, it does get better. I don't mind them now, and I try to remember what a great overall exercise they are. And don't forget to celebrate what you can do and how far you've come. If it were easy, it wouldn't be a "work"out. Best wishes on your continued fit journey!

Ugh they are the work of the devil. i even hate the name!

I know I'm going to have to start doing them soon. Am doing 30 day shred atm - was thinking of putting in a few burpees at the end as I'm finding it much easier the past few days.

Just doing them, as well as breaking down the movement and working on the hard parts - for me, jumping my legs back in is the hard part, so I work on just jumping my feet out and in, and since that requires a strong core and hip flexibility, I work on those as well. Still don't like them, but I don't want to cry when I have to do them either.

I hate burpees too. They are like a necessary evil though. I do them a lot in our hotel room when we go away. It's a good way to get in a quick workout along with pushups and mountain climbers when you're traveling.

Doing things you like to do means you are strong in that area. Doing things you don't like usually means it's really difficult.

I have issues with certain exercises too. But, I know from exerience that I can work through it, and over time, next thing I know, I'm doing it like a pro. You just need to stick with it and strengthen all those muscles that you utilize doing burpees. Being a surfer, I see huge value in doing burpees, and do them voluntarily in the water on a board. But, that's because it's fun.
