cold temps

I work in a cooler that stays around 34 degrees F wearing jeans, long sleeve tshirt and a sweatshirt. can anyone tell me if i'm using more cals. than if i were working in normal temps?

yes, but how many more is not really measurable.0

It really depends, and it's hard to measure exactly how much. But when you're cold, your basal metabolic rate does increase, causing your body to work to stay warm and burns more calories as a result. HOWEVER, if you're working you're probably moving around and not just standing there shivering so there is a good chance that your core is warm and you aren't really burning as many calories as you would if you were just standing there freezing.0
