Does anyone know of a really good fancy/exotic sugar? i am going to the country grocery store and want something yummy/fancy to sprinkle over berries or oatmeal. they have tons of stuff there that you cannot find in normal grocery. I cannot remember all what but its all very inexpensive, too!

I've heard coconut palm sugar is amazing but I haven't tried it yet. I live in the sticks so anything too exotic I have to buy online. Have fun shopping! :)

I love coconut palm sugar, it has a low glycemic index which means it does not spike my blood sugar. I use the dark coconut palm sugar for a sub on a sweet potato instead of brown sugar. Happy shopping Day!
  • Turbinado is bad *kitten* on oatmeal I get sugar-in-the-raw

update: lol I got some Mineral sea salt 1.82 lb for $5.44, blonde coconut sugar (under $5 for a bag?), Natural sucanat sugar (pure cane sugar) 1 lb for $2.23...pure coconut oil 2.05lbs for $7.13(it doesnt say unrefined so it probably isnt, but I can use it without guilt on my skin!)..ooh and some garbanzo bean flour - not sure what to do with that but I loved the recipes I've made with garbanzo beans so far! I took tons of pictures so I could blog about it, but here are a couple of pictures of that stuff from blog..

I looked for Agave Nectar and didnt see it, but the gal checking me out said they had it and offered to go get me some but since I had *so* much stuff in cart I said no thanks, but I'd ask for help next time I visited! Also didn't see any turbinado sugar but I bet they had it..again, my cart was full so I didnt seek it out but after seeing picture on wikapedia (reminded me of sugar rock candy almost?) I want to try some!!

Love the pic. That looks just like the little Amish health food store near Lancaster, PA, that I go to a few times a year for staples like sea salt and nuts. So cheap, and I like supporting those people :)
