Changing things up?

I've read you should change up your fitness routine every now and again. How could I do do that at the gym? Currently I do an hour of cardio (20/20/20 on elliptical/treadmill/bike) 5 days a week, strength training (NROLFW stage 1) 3 days a week.
Recently my weight loss has slowed down and I'd like to give it a bit of a kick start. Will changing up my routine help?

You can try doing one thing for the entire 60 minutes, or two modalities for 30 min each. You can also cut the duration in half once or twice a week and do interval training or high-intensity steady-state workouts.
You can also change your strength days as well. Personally, I think if you are doing a whole-body workout and lifting heavier weights, 3 days a week is too much (but maybe that's just because I am old and decrepit). You might consider taking that third day of lifting and combine a short, intense HIIT session (15-20 min) with a metabolic-type circuit.
I don't know that your current routine is contributing to your plateau, but regardless, there are some things you can do to give it a little boost.0
