I'm a newbie, but actually I'm trying to help my husband lose weight . He is so immobile it is hard! He lifts some small weights but nothing to get the cardio up. He can't stand at all so don't know what his starting weight is either since he can't get on the scale. Any suggestions out there to burn calories in his situation?

Welcome!
I wish I had some magical words of advice for you but this is out of my league. I think it would be best to consult your doctor or an experienced physical therapist who has worked with other M.S. clients.
There are lots of smart folks on here so hopefully someone else will have some suggestions.
Hang in there

I am one of the lucky ones with ms, I guess, as I am still ambulatory ... that said, the National M.S. Society has a lot of info on living with ms...exercising and other helpful info...here is a link to their website...good luck to you and your hubby. vee

It would probably be a very good idea for you and your husband to check with his neurologist regarding his meds as I found that some of them will pack on the pounds...hope this helps :flowerforyou:0 -
I heard that diet pops are terrible for M.S. That's all I know... Good luck!!:flowerforyou:0

There is a lady here in Fresno, CA that has MS. At the age of 19 she was in a wheelchair. Today she has to be in her 40's, is a competative bodybuilder. She is training a friend of mine who is in his 60's and has MS. She is changing his diet to lots of colored foods, void processed foods and totally changing his lifestyle. I know that she has him doing arm curls and she has him laying on his back lifting his legs as much as he can. Lot's of stretching. The key she says it to keep moving.
Go online and seach exercises for MS. You should be able to find something.
I wish you luck.0
