I'm looking to buy a new bicycle and am in need of some advice. I am really wanting to find something around the $500-$600 price range if possible.
I'll be mostly riding it through the city, on backroads and paved paths but there are a few hard packed trails in my area.I am thinking that a hybrid is going to fit my needs the best .I kinda think I have it narrowed it down to three that I want to test ride; Cannondale Quick 5, Giant Escape 2 and the Trek 7.2 . If anyone has any of these bikes or any feedback on these bikes or other bikes I haven't listed I would love to hear your advice and feedback.
Thanks so much!!

Those are all really good and popular bikes. I would ride each one and go with what you feel most comfortable with. If one just feels right, then that's almost certainly going to be the one you want to ride the most.0

Thanks for the feedback I am going to test ride them tomorrow. I was at the US Open so couldn't do it today0

I agree to test ride the bikes. Make sure you ride them more than a block or two, IMO. If you are going to do some packed off road, ride it on there. I have a Trek Hybrid myself. Really do like it. It fits me.0

I've put a lot of miles on my Trek 7.2 fx. I'm really happy with it.
I didn't shop around at all before buying the 7.2 fx. I was brand loyal after my Trek mountain bike took all the abuse I threw at it for a decade.0 -
Thanks everyone.I will make sure to ride more than a block and I will try a hardpack trail if there any available near the Bike stores. Looks like Giants and Treks are the most popular according to the reviews I have read. I love the look of the Cannondale but I don't know how it performs yet.0
