Are you avoiding sugar because you believe that it is necessary to do so in order to lose weight? Or are you avoiding it for other reasons? Please share.

    opening your diary might help.

Meat, fish, eggs, cheese and a range of vegetables will provide you with a sugar free menu for lunch and dinner. Throw in a few nuts as well and some berries perhaps depending what your precise issues and limits are.

The longer you go without sugar the less you crave it.

if you hit a plateau, then its not the sugar but the calories, try droping the calories by 200 a day and see if that helps

Opening your diary would allow everyone to help you better. If you're not comfortable with that would you mind sharing your calorie goal?

the only way to lose weight is in a caloric deficet, regardless of sugar, carbs, protein,or fat intake.you have to expend more energy than you take in,thats it,if you are getting bloated you may need to take in more water

I can get to this eating packs of these:

And eating over BMR. Not starving, lots of sugar. I still eat sugar and now look like this:

If sugar does make you lose weight, it's not fat or muscle. This is more related to carbs but this is how water weight works:

I think it's a great idea to stay away from processed sugars. It definitely won't do you any harm. Replace processed sugar with real sugar, fruit, and sweet vegetables for example. They're low on the GI, and they're good for you, despite the fact that there is sugar in them.

I have a problem where if I eat refined sugar, I get hungrier. I wind up not feeling satisfied and eat a lot more food than I ought to eat. Have you tried fresh local grown produce? I find that that keeps me from eating too much, and leaves me feeling full.

my nurse suggested a maximum of 1500 calories a day. before i discovered this website i usually had to do the math to figure out how much this or that has calorie wise. i didn't have to avoid sugar and still somehow lost 20lbs...:/

Replace processed sugar with real sugar
How is the sucrose in a packet different to the sucrose in an orange ? or the sucrose in an unsweetened orange juice. I don't think this is going to help the OP.

You know that fructose has a low GI because it's not glucose, I assume ?

hes not answering but im assuming the sugar in fruit is from the fact that its a complex carb and the sugar breaks down more slowly?
