what food before exercise

I eat a protein serving and maybe a carb like a piece of fruit.0

On weekdays I get to the gym at 5 so around 3 I have a piece of fruit and a cheese stick as my afternoon snack. I stll have a great deal of energy must be because the cheese helps slow my digestion of fruit. Fruit is just about anything. Some days an apple, other days a nectarine still other days a banana or a kiwi. Whatever is cheap and looks good that week at the store but not the same thing all week as I'm already generally eating the same thing every day for breakfast and I don't want to be bored.
Other than that the big thing is I don't eat right before but try to eat like 90-120 minutes prior so my food doesn't feel like it's sitting in my stomach while I'm exercising0 -
