Stationary Bike Calorie-Counting Differences?

Funny thing: when I "snowbird" in FL for 5 months, I use the condo's stationary bikes. I typically exercise on a moderately high setting for 55 minutes and burn 700 calories per session. (That's my goal, so that's when I stop).
When I came home to NY last month, I bought a really good stationary bike for home. Now the same session on this new bike produces 250 calories for the same amount of time, similar resistance level.
Anyone have any ideas on what accounts for these very vast differences?
