New to exercise!

I'm starting to gradually add exercise into my diet. But i don't know where to start. I either do half a hour of Zumba or Dance central on the Xbox for longer. I just want to know whats good to start off with and how long for? And what tones what and everything else along with calories being burned. Also last question haha, what tones the hips and stomach the best?
