Aerial yoga and high blood pressure

Has anyone tried this activity? I'm quite excited to start but have very high blood pressure (on meds now) and am awaiting a new heart rate monitor. I'm a little concerned as I know high BP is a contra-indication to aerial yoga, but that said I am reasonably fit and have been doing "regular" yoga for a while anyway. I also do bodypump and running (both approved and indeed encouraged by my doctor) and have recently started spinning.

Looking for feedback in three respects: firstly, is it as fun as it looks? second, is it as beneficial as other forms of yoga, or is this more "gimmicky"? And finally, would you say it is more or less intense than the other activities above?

I'm going to speak to my doctor about it next week anyway, but it might be that she is not aware of it (I'd never heard of it until the new Virgin Active club in Aldersgate opened a specialist room for it) so I though it might be helpful if I could givbe her an indication of what its like before asking whether she thinks its safe!

thanks
