I have heard of this coming from many people. I am going to give you some advice that my grandpa gave me a long long time ago... he wasn't speaking about weight loss, but i thin kit applies.
"When you get thrown from a horse, get up, shoot the Son of a B****, get a new one and ride like hell..."
I took, don't ever give up out of that.0 -
I do have a similar problem. I'm 189, but I don't look fantastic. I looked ok at 145, but at 130 it was much closer to fantastic. That's probably because I'm 52. Don't stress, just start charting again. Serious health problems will be heading your way if you don't take care of yourself. My blood pressure is getting harder to control with medication. I can't exercise that long without my ankle hurting. You don't want to end up that way. Be brave enough to post your diary for others to see. That will help you be more accountable.

Yes exactly!
I went to my Dr. and to my surprise I had found out that since gaining I now have high cholesterol and varicose veins in my right leg.
Ive dropped the weight before and I can do it again, it's just difficult.0 -

Been there. About 2 years ago I shed about 50 lbs. I've gained about 30 back since then. I'm working on losing it again. My diet is a little more relaxed, and my work-outs a little more varied this time around. Hopefully that means it will be easier to keep as a permanent lifestyle change. My wife is also on board now, so I won't have to go it alone.0

Yes ! Which is why I am here today (ON MFP) ! I was 213lbs and dropped to 175lbs and flew back up to 207lbs and now it's harder than ever to even get below 200lbs! I hate it, but I know what I am capable of so I am striving for it !
This is almost IDENTICAL to my story! I got up to197 in 2006 (and I that was my HEAVIEST at that time) and was so disgusted with myself after seeing a picture that I got serious about my eating/weight and lost about 30 lbs (down to 167-170)...I looked great...even to the point that people started commenting that I was getting too "skinny" (i wasnt "skinny" by any means...i'm 5'7 but I slimmed down considerably)....now i'm at 209lbs and STRUGGLING!!!! I started MFP about 3 months ago and I thought I would have been back in one-derland by now but instead I have lost and gained the same few lbs!
I get soo soo sooo mad (and a little depressed) with myself sometimes when I think about it and when I look at pics of myself from then...gosh...I can't wait to get back...and SURPASS that goal!0 -

I think that's a great idea! I am actually encouraged to know that I am not alone in this...i really was ashamed for a long time because of regaining all the weight I lost and MORE! Please count me in!0 -

Hey I noticed not too long ago that I have varicose veins behind my legs too! It's definitely not somethign that I had before so it has to be connected to the amount of weight i've gained...it really sucks! I have to do some more research on it but it's really scary0 -
Yep. Got down to 117 a few years ago (healthy for my height-I'm 5'2) and only maintained it for about six months. My 'natural' weight (when I'm not really trying but not really eating too bad...just not working out a lot) is 130, and while I'm told I look smaller than I really am, I don't feel my best now.
Of course NOW I'd LOVE to be 130...but that's a different story!0 -

Unfortunately I have to say yes. I was at 22 at my highest. I dropped down to 145 and thought I looked ok. I wanted to hit 125-130. I let my eating go and quit exercising now I am back up to 171 and not happy about it at all. I tried the insanity workout and wasnt able to stick with it. I am to the point that I desperate to get the weight off. I log every single morsel that goes in my mouth now and am looking for new fun ways to exercise0

YEP! I had joined MFP 5 years ago and lost about 45 pounds. I was the fittest I have ever been in my life. I was 145 when I got pregnant with my daughter. I gained more than I should have during pregnancy but after I had her I was down to 185.
Then in the last 2 years I went up to 215 :explode:
I am down to 207 now but it is sooooo frustrating to think I was only 40 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight after I had my daughter and now I am 62 pounds away.
I have found it is much harder this time around because I feel guilty working in gym time. I feel like I am taking time away from my family. :frown:0 -
While I have lost and gained and lost and gained and gained again, I am confident that I will put an end to the yo yo effect this time around. I am doing several things differently. Most importantly, I have implemented a total lifestyle change that is permanent and sustainable. Until recently, I don't think I fully understood the difference between "diet" and "lifestyle change". I used to think it was about willpower or portion control. For me, it's eating healthy whole plant-based foods (with no added fats). I don't have to be hungry or limit my quantities. The weight comes off slower, but steadily.
Someday when I reach my goal (and I will), I won't need to change what or how much I eat. That's the difference. The lifestyle is set. The best part is that I love the foods I eat and I have never felt better. I only wish I had learned about this way of eating sooner.0
