Help!

I'm suffering from an acute case of 24-hour morning sickness. I don't feel capable of eating anything but items like saltines, cheerios, and (believe it or not) chocolate. I should be eating a considerably healthier diet and I am committed to having this pregnancy NOT yield the massive weight-gain incurred during my last pregnancy. I am exhausted and vulnerable to stress-eating. Can any of the fit Mommies and/or mommies-to-be please send me support, advice, encouragement ... prayers?
Many thanks!

Have you tried Motion Sickness bands? You wear them on each wrist and there's a little ball that pushes on your pressure point on your wrist to help ease motion sickness but it works really well for morning sickness. It was a life save for me while I was pregnant! They were tacky, but I didn't take them off except to shower for the first 12 weeks.

Ginger is supposed to help with motion sickness. I wonder if it would help with morning sickness.

    First off, congratulations!

Trader Joe's sells something called "Ginger Chews". Those are awesome for taming morning sickness. It doesn't always work but it does generally help.
  • I totally feel for you. When I was pregnant with my son, I got acute morning sickness pretty much from the time I found out and it didn't go away! I felt nauseated the entire time. The first thing I realized after birth was that I didn't feel like throwing up. Everything made me sick. Water made me ill. I found that watermelon was really soothing. Also I did vanilla milkshakes although those aren't too lowfat. At first, my doctor thought I was just exaggerating. Later, he had to put me on Reglan to control the nausea and later in the pregnancy he gave me something stronger. He told me to just eat whatever I felt like eating when I felt like eating it. I just planned on getting sick. I had second breakfast, second lunch, second dinner. It was a joke in our household. Sorry, I am rambling. Anyway, try and stick to what you feel like at the moment and if it gets really bad, tell your doctor. If it persists, don't let them blow you off.
