Am I not getting enough Protein?

I did a report on my protein intake, and I seem to average just under 80g of protein per day.. Some days it can be high as 110 or so, but never higher.

Comparatively, my carb intake has been anywhere between 160 and 260g.

I'm not exactly working out often, however I do a lot of yardwork at home that makes me ache & sweat, so perhaps that IS working out...

Should I be trying to eat more protein? Chicken, etc.? I may have one chicken breast a week... lol.

I think it probably depends on your goals and how lean you are. Most people I've seen here will suggest around .7- 1.0 g per lb of lean body mass for weight loss while attempting to maintain muscle mass. If you're doing a fair bit of strength training or trying to gain muscle while in a surplus, that number can go up.

EDIT: knowing nothing about your medical history, life, and given that I'm not a nutritionist, trainer or doctor, I'd guess around 100g/day is probably ok.

    Thanks for the input!

What exactly is 'lean body mass'? I weigh 180 currently.

Your weight minus your fat. So any port of your body (muscles, bones, tendons, organs) that isn't fat.
