I'm not sure where hands should be, I think I know how elbows should line up (pointing back?) But not sure about body alignment should be. I've been (trying)doing them on knees, but they are sooo dang hard. I just feel like there's a sweet spot where it should feel semi-natural. I appreciate any help- thanks!

i dont know that there is a sweet spot at all. They ARE awkward! lol

They are starting to feel a bit more natural to me now though. I do 1 regualr push up, walk hands out, do a tri pushup, repeat. Do a search on youtube for a video to show form for a tricep pushup, that may help with your hand position, etc.

Hands right under the shoulders and when you lower yourself, your elbows should brush your sides.

Here's a YouTube video on it -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfIQ5V4Tcgo. There's a ton of stuff on YouTube. I find it really helpful when I want to see how an exercise is done.
