Inconsistency in calories and macros

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I could not find any info on it. I am doing a PSMF (Protein Sparing Modified Fast) Rapid fat loss program by Lyle McDonald. I am doing it for 6 weeks. I do not want to go over 1200 calories per day, but when I log my foods into myfitness pal, I hit my macros but it tells me im over my calories. For example, today I ate 213g of protein, 11 g of carbs, and 18 g of fat. If I do the math (4calsx1g P + 4 calsx1g C + 9 cals x 1gF) I get a net intake of 1,058 calores but the counter is telling me I ate 1221 calories. So there is a difference of about 160 calories, would it be more accurate to go by the calorie number or to go by the macros and do the math on them? I am trying to stay below 1200 cals on this diet. Thanks.

That's strange. I would go by actual calories as those are more important for weight loss.0

Heres another example, I eat liquid egg whites from stop and shop. The serving I have is nothing else but 60g of protein. Since 1 g of Protein is 4 calories then this should be 240 calories but the label says its 300 calories. How can it be 300 if there is nothing but the 60g of protein and since protein is 4 cal/g? Thats a 60 calories difference.0
