Shin Pain!

Hey everyone! So I just started running, and I have awfuuuul shin pains, during and for the day after as well. I was wondering if you guys have any advice about healing it. Should I ice them every time I come back from a run? Heat pack? Should I take days off between runs? Any advice would be great, I'm still just a beginner :smile:
