How much damage can you do in 6 weeks?

I am traveling for work in central Canada and am staying at a university dorm. The university does not have any dining halls open during the summer and there is a disgusting mini fridge that the entire floor shares. I have been here for two weeks and have been eating out for dinner practically every night with colleagues and eating peanut butter, bread, fruit, dried fruit, muffins and nuts for breakfast and lunches. I've also been working crazy hours since I am here working on a time sensitive project. The only silver lining is that my work is somewhat strenuous and I walk about 10-15 km through farmland.

I am pretty much stuck with this diet/routine. The only thing I can really control is portions, which is so difficult when you are constantly eating out and working up an appetite. Has anyone been in a similar situation? My routine was so golden before I got here and the rules were so clear. Now everything has gone completely out the window. I wish I had a scale, because then, maybe I would be more motivated to limit my portions a bit more. I'm so nervous to see how much damage I've done.

When you eat out, try to limit where you go to places that have posted calorie counts. You can always take half back to the dorm fridge and eat it for lunch the next day. You can still come here and track your foods, and exercise so you have some idea of caloric intake. If you are conscious about your choices you should still lose while you are away. Just think how pleasant it will be to get back to your scale. Check the campus health office and see if they have a scale there you can use to keep you on track. Many of them do at their fitness centers, or nurses office.

even if you're stuck eating out, get grilled chicken and salad. restaurant food doesn't have to be bad!
