Hi All,
After a long break, I am back and committed to MFP. One goal/challenge I have set for myself is to compete in my first ever warrior dash this summer-I'm so pumped!! I was wondering if any fellow MFP'ers out there have competed in the past/will be competing soon and could offer any training tips and ideas. I've been running and I've done several 5K's before, but nothing off-road with obstacles so I'm open to any and all ideas.
Just shy of 8 weeks left till race day, hope to see some of you there!!

I just completed my first warrior dash june 9th!!! I had SO much fun!!! I've never done a 5k or any other race like that before this, so I'm not really able to compare it to other races. The course in my state was full of hills, that was tough for me! The obstacles themselves weren't too hard, it was a good workout though thats for sure! As far as tips go, just make sure you bring extra shoes, clothes, and a towel to sit on for the rides home! The hose off area didn't really get me clean at all so I was glad to have clean stuff to wear! Have fun, let me know if I can help answer any questions!0

I'm in the 9 am heat on Sunday at Windham. They've changed all of the obstacles up. I cannot wait! One word of advice for this kind of race, everyone says bring shoes you don't like but I have to disagree. I have black trail sneakers from Saucony. I needed the new tread on them and the cushioning. I only wear them for trail running so they don't get a lot of wear. I threw them in the washer and they were good as new. Probably not the best recommendation for them, but I don't think it's safe to wear sneakers that are too run down. But good luck. It's going to be a blast!!!0
