That doesn't sound reasonable. Give yourself more like 5 months

I am trying to lose 20lbs in 3 months, and so far I've only lost around 5.5 in these first 3weeks.. So If I can keep this loss of around 1.8 a week I can lose 14.4 in the next 8 weeks. So thats putting me riiiight at almost 20lbs in those 3 months, if my body keeps at that pace. I think it really depends on your body, how much you are over weight, what you eat and how serious you take your exercise.

I don't recommend putting a time limit on these things if you want to make it a long term weight loss goal though, I initially had a 3 months goal, but that became 4 and so on. When you start to lose weight you will start to look and feel better, and you might not even need to lose the number you thought, especially if you incorporate strength training in your workouts. Since you cant get to a gym you should get to running for atleast 30 mins a day 3-6 days a week, or if you have a bike get to riding it for an hour or more if you can. Get work out DVDs and start doing push ups, crunches and things of those sorts.

I lost 20 lbs in a month according to my doctors scale, 15 according to mine.

How I did it was following the Harcombe diet. Phase 1 was five days and very restrictive on what i could and couldn't eat but I could eat as much as i wanted of yogurt (natural nothing processed) and a few other things.

I've been on phase 2 since and have lost weight. I've also been exercising every morning and evening. My evening workout being my dance routine, and my morning being my get up and move and work out til I'm ready to drop. Then I shower and move throughout my day. I keep in mind a body in motion stays in motion. Even while sitting 'still' i'm not. I'll use soup cans as weights to tone up my muscles and am usually swinging my feet a bit in my chair.

Basically eating healthy, drinking water, and keep moving has been helping me alot! I've even managed to maintain while going through a grieving period where i've snuck comfort foods like mac and cheese, velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, and cheese roll ups... all of which are phase three foods i shouldn't eat til maintenence phase 3.

In my experience if you eat healthy, stick to your diet and listen to your body, the sky's the limit.

For Phase 1 there have been reports of people loosing up to 20 lbs. I lost i think 5 or 7... i wanna say 5 lbs those first five days and 7 by the end of that week. I'd have to go back and check my weight loss charts.

I did the HCG Diet. You loose minimum one pound a day and it not only did not require any exercise but it says that you should be careful not to. I found it to be rather easy from a physical stand point but you have to be super disciplined and you can not cheat period paragraph. I have heard mixed reviews about if this diet is healthy or not but I did it under a doctors supervision and I feel great! I have lost 55 pounds in approximately 80 days. The only thing is that you look really young in the picture and you will need to get the Doctors appv to go on this diet being that he has to prescribe you the HCG. You also have to be able to afford it but I think that they will let you make payments!

losing 25 lbs in 3 months? I can't go to the gym..

    Log absolutely everything you consume.

Exercise - you do not have to go to a gym to exercise. Walking, which costs nothing and can be done anywhere burns approximately 100calories per mile. Instead of that hour in the gym that you are unable to do, walk for an hour.

Swimming, running, cycling - are any of these possible for you? Swimming for an hour breaststroke burns 600 calories approx, running for an hour can burn the same and cycling can burn 120 calories per 20 minutes cycle ride at 10-12mph.

Other stuff you can do is walk instead of taking the elevator/lift, walk those distances whereby you would normally drive or use public transport that is only a short journey.

Stick to your calorie allowance the pounds should start dropping.

It can be done. I lost 15 in 8 weeks....I hope to lose another 5 in the next few weeks. I dont get to the gym much lately, but I will try to start soon...so, I can lose more. I am on Jenny Craig, though...it's a balanced diet and I'm not hungry which was important for me to stay on it.

It really depends on how heavy you are to begin with. It's taken me three months to lose 16 lbs, but my starting weight was only 138lbs.

As for exercise, it's easier than you think to get it in. I can't go to the gym either, I can't afford it. So I run outdoors, I downloaded some exercise videos which I do once a day. It really does help.

I did it, but that was because I had a lot more than 25 to lose...

If you only have 25 to lose, you're not going to lose it all in 3 months. But the best you can do to try is stick to your calories strictly, be honest with what you log (don't underestimate anything, don't forget to log the little things like the butter on your toast, sugar in your coffee etc) You don't have to go to the gym, I don't. Go for a walk, jog up and down the stairs, get a zumba game for the wii, or wii fit, that's what I do

I've lost 54 lbs since the 7th Jan and have about 17 to go

I just hit my 40-pound loss today (at 62 days)....you can do it, but make sure you are doing it completely safely, which includes eating healthy (a minimum of 1200 calories daily), drinking plenty of water, along with getting daily physical activity...make sure to log every single thing that you eat (even if it is just a "bite")....Every single person is different (what works for one, might/might not work for another), plus every person loses weight at a different rate. Another thing is bodies change in great ways, sometimes the scale doesn't reflect that...you might lose inches, but the scale shows elsewise...my best advice, take 1 day a a time...it's like an experiment, you'll find what works for you :)

~All the best in your weight loss journey :)
