c25k in 3 weeks

Hi, I've signed up to do a 5k and so am using the c25k app every week day to try and get to 5k in 3 weeks! (I am now on week4 day3) For those runners out there, do you think I'll be ready in time (3 July)?

I think you're heading for an injury if you're not careful. Your body builds muscle and heals on the recovery days, and you don't have any of those.

Most weeks I run 40+ MPW and I always have some days off. Rest is as important as running. No recovery means slow or no progression and likely injury. If you have moved through this fast already, you will do better with your 5K if you slow down and take some rest days and have higher quality workouts between now and then, rather than try to power through without rest and not really get the benefit from the run/recovery cycle.

It depends on how much exercise you usually do and how fit you are. If you are used to exercising and have pretty good leg strength and cardio but haven't run much, then sure, you could probably do it. If you are truly going couch to 5k, from sedentary to running, then I would say forget the running this time and focus on walking the 5k. If not, you are setting yourself up for injury and disappointment.

An exercise program like c25k doesn't really offer shortcuts. The rest days are there for a reason. Compressing the schedule into an unrealistic timeline is actually counterproductive. Injured runners don't finish many 5k's.
