So I gave blood yesterday...

...and for some reason, as the blood was draining out of me, I started to think of vampires. In a lot of the vampire movies, novels, etc the vampire usually drains the human of all blood (10-12 pints) or a good portion of it. You have to lose 4 pints of blood or more to die. Could you imagine downing 4 pints of anything, much less something the consistency of blood? I'm pretty sure any vampire would hurl.

Yes, these are the things I think of when I have too much time to think.

I've had to get my blood taken so much during this pregnancy that I feel like one of those Looney Toons cartoons that get's shot up...and then drinks water and it comes out all the holes!! :laugh:

I think the only reason it came to mind was we were talking about how you can't drink a gallon of milk within an hour without hurling and somehow that crossed to the blood thing. Maybe I should lay off watching TrueBlood for a while.

that's my job, collecting blood products everyday! you did a good thing. but i never think of blood that way. we save lives everyday thats what i think about.

Seriously though, the donation I made was run by http://www.militaryblood.dod.mil/ which means my blood will go to someone in the military who needs it. Being military that's very cool to me. I may not be in the front lines so this is my contribution to those guys and gals out there who have more guts than I'll ever have.

I think Guinness is the only beer I can think of that'd be about the same consistency... I can definately down 4 pints of that, so yeah, you got me there.

It really depends on the author. Some authors have them running in packs, some have them singular, some have them drinking only enough to live and not killing, others have them killing only one person a year. So yup just depends. :bigsmile:
