How many people remember when your bank first started promoting the new ATM'S? It was going to cut costs by minimizing Teller activity for simple transacations.
Remember when Cable Television started? Sure, there was a monthly fee, but, HEY, you're paying for the privilege of no commercials, right?
Doesn't matter what I log into, switch on or turn on, I'm getting solicited.
Do I really need the latest version of Angry Birds? The latest iPhone revision? Texting? Skypeing? Tweets? Do I want to complete a survey to better help me in the future when I order a CD from Amazon?
Leave me alone. I don't need to be accessible 24 hours a day.
