A lot of people recommend Polar FT4, I just ordered it myself. It's $62 on the website.
They also have Polar FT1 for $45 but I'm not sure how good it is.

If you can get a decent HRM (with a chest strap) that only calculates your heart rate and nothing else, this is an excellent site that will do the calculation for you: http://www.braydenwm.com/calburn.htm I find that it's usually within about 5% of my Polar.
