GOOD FATS -- How much is too much

Hi Folks,

I set my *fat* allowance to 25% of my daily intake. When I eat something like nuts or avocado, I usually jump right over my 'limit.'

Does it count if you go over if the fat is good fat?

Thanks,
Pink

Just because a fat is a so-called "good" fat, does not mean it can be eaten in unlimited quantities.

From a health standpoint, there are definite advantages to "good" fats, but all fats--good and bad--contain 9 kcal/gram, so you have to keep them to limited amounts.

Fats make up about 55% of my daily intake, but I'm an oddity here.

If it's coming from a good fat source, of course you can't eat it in unlimited quantities, but maybe a diet with 30% fat and fewer carbs may fit better.

I would reset your fat allotment to 30% and try not to go over that even with the good fat.
