Are you taking allergy medication? It can certainly make you feel more dry.0

Rumor has it that by the time you feel thirsty, you're already considered dehydrated. You must not be drinking enough even though you're doing the recommended "8 glasses".
It is summer so if you are really active and live in a hot area, that could do it! Lately I've been really thirsty and I already drink over 10 glasses every day!
Also- if you have a VERY dry cottony mouth... could be related to a prescription med. Might want to check that too.0 -
Are you exercising too? I drink a lot more when exercising - you should drink an extra litre of water for every hour of exercise.0

Typically I have noticed that when I start drinking healthy amounts, I start getting thirsty often too. Either its my body's reaction to knowing that I will be taking take of its water needs (also the reason I use restroom couple of times more a day than before) or my diet change has done some affect on my thirst. I bet its the first thing0

Since you state that you aren't on any meds, it could either be your exercise or you could have some other disease or deficiency. You may need to see a doctor for blood work if you haven't recently.
If you exercise, you do need to drink quite a bit more. You can google how much depending on your exercise routine.
Are you eating a lot of salty food?0 -
Drink more. You're thirsty because your body wants more water. This is normal.0

I just started recently to increase my water intake. I was such a bad soda junkie. But as soon as I cut out the soda and started drinking the water, I got bad dry mouth like I hadn't drank anything at all. Which is weird because I have never ever drunk this much fluid in my life..lol. I don't like water too much, so I was gulping it and trying to drink a glass as fast as possible. But once I started to slow down and actually sip my water...the dry mouth went away.
I"m gonna try some suggestions that I got to add flavor to the water..maybe that will help some too, as water is too blahh for me.0
