I can't reach 1500 Calories.

I don't really understand how anyone does it? Especially if you are eating good foods, makes it alot harder to get more calories. I usually can only eat about 800 calories a day. & that is usually breakfast, lunch & dinner. It always says I need to eat alot more or else I am going to go into starvation mode, which I really don't want. If anyone is having this problem too, add me, or add me if you have any tips. :)
Thank you, Caoimhe. xo

What are you eating that is so filling that you can only manage 800? Just a load of veggies? I really don;t understand. Even on days I eat strictly clean I have no problem hitting 2500. Add more meals in. Eat more calorie dense food. Stuff like peanut butter, avocados, oats, sweet potatoes, nuts, etc go a long way....

I am eating cereal, dinner, and like tea and toast at night time. How come you eat 2500 is that what you're suppose to? Okay, I will try to. :-)

You didn't gain weight by eating 800 calories a day. Something tells me you can make it

There are an abundance of high calorie, healthy foods. Avacado, coconut oil, nuts... too many to list.

Sometimes we just like not eating that much and that feeling of a non full day, feels like "success", I get it, but you're only working against yourself with feelings like that, and it's a false sense of success anyway since it's really not helping you get healthier.

Are you losing weight at 800? If so, how much a week? ...if you don't mind me asking. :flowerforyou:

...I'm sorry.. Tea and toast? and just two other meals? ...one being cereal?

I eat around that number because I'm working on building muscle. I really would suggest you add a lot more food into your diet. Meats, veggies, fruits, etc. Cereal and tea/toast doesn't exactly provide your body with enough nutrients or calories. If your trying to lose weight, you'll only be doing yourself a lot of harm in the long run by not eating much at all.

I have been experiencing the same issue with hovering around the 800 to 900 calorie per day mark with the nasty starvation mode warning daily. I like the nuts, avocado and peanut butter suggestions. All healthy choices! ...and yes the bulk of my food is raw low carb veggies. : )

800 calories is nowhere near enough, even if you want to lose weight, unless you're like 4 feet tall.
Your diet is also composed entirely of carbohydrates, which you should be limiting if you want to lose weight.
You need more protein and fat in your diet if you want to lower your body fat percentage.

I eat 1600-1800 a day. I usually have eggs and toast or eggs and yogurt for breakfast, 5-6 oz grilled chicken breast or a can of tuna with 2 oz greek yogurt with one green veggie and one not green veggie for lunch and either a grilled chicken breast, pork chop or steak for supper usually around 5-6 oz plus again one green veggie and one not green veggie. I also have either a kiwi or 2 cups strawberries or two cups grapes for a mid day snack and an apple with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter as my "desert". I also have half a cup of skim milk witha scoop of protein powder post workout.

I don't think I would ever be able to eat that much, if I did I would feel sick and really really full. How is your weight-loss going?

Yeah, but the amount I eat now really fills me up most of the time.. and I think its also the thought of getting fat that is making me try not to eat..

Right, and I get that because I feel the same way when I eat 800 calories, it's almost a powerful feeling... but you need to eat to live (and lose weight, yes) and be healthy. Do you want to go through life skinny with shaky hands feeling weak and delicate or do you want a hard, lean body that is strong and healthy?

Eating a bit of fruit everyday for a snack or adding it to a meal like the cereal cold help, If you like nuts you could get a bag and eat some of those, but you night want to read what they put in the back first. Tuna salad/ sandwich, egg salad/ sandwich or cooked eggs instead of cereal sometimes could help.

as young as you are, hun, you need to be eating a lot more. I get it. When I was 16 I didn't eat breakfast, had a lean hot pocket for lunch and a little of whatever my mother put on my plate at night. I thought I was grossly overweight. And I could justify my thinking by seeing my legs jiggle and pinching the extra fold of skin on my stomach calling it my pooch.

How I wish I could go back in time and slap some damn sense into myself. I wanted to be skinny at all costs and forget about actually being healthy. I am 5'7'' and was about 130-135 at the time. Fast forward to now, 7 years later. I began lifting weights about 2.5 years ago and actually eating whatever I wanted because my muscles were HUNGRY. I currently weigh 162. My thighs no longer jiggle, but are actually firm and when I flex are hard as a rock. My stomach is FLAT. I am actually starting to see some of my abs since I have cut out a LOT of the bread and processed sugars out of my diet (which is all cereal and toast is, my dear). How is this possible when I weigh almost 30 pounds more? Because I lift weights. I EAT. I am averaging about 1800-2000 cal per day right now in order to cut down and get my body fat percentage down enough to see each defined ab that I can feel underneath just the last little bit of flab.

MAKE yourself eat more. ADD a fruit or veggie to each meal, no matter what. Get some 5lb weights and start doing some weighted exercises. You WILL firm up. You might actually gain weight. It's a hard mental block to get past those seemingly all important #s on the scale.

But hey, guess what. It is possible. AND though I weigh significantly more than I used to, I am still a full size smaller than I was in high school. Wrap your mind around that one. Weightlifting does not make you bulky. Please please do not tell me that because I am proof otherwise.

Anyhow, good luck on your journey. I know that it is difficult as a teen and you are trying to reach that ever elusive goal that society puts out there for each one of us. You are beautiful as you are. Don't let anyone, especially yourself, tell you otherwise.
