I have been working out for 12 weeks now and for the most part, have been doing a pretty decent job of it. The nutrition part could use a little help, but I have improved. I am going away to our cabin for the week and family loves to bring all kinds of treats and what-not's, and I don't want to fall prey to eating a bunch of crap! I know I need willpower, but this is my weakness. This is going to be a huge challenge for me. I do NOT want to go backwards in my journey though. Any suggestions of what I might do to help me stay away from all that horribleness?!

  • First of all, good job on your 12 weeks of effort. Remember, it's a life style change and sounds like you're doing great. Keep it up!

Suggestion #1) Write yourself a note that says, "This is going to be a huge challenge for me. I do NOT want to go backwards in my journey though." Keep the note in your pocket and take it out and look at it when the time comes (you'll know when that is).

Suggestion #2) Heck, you're at the cabin with the family for a little summer excursion. I think it's mandatory to eat a little of something special that somebody makes (not buys and brings); a smore, a cobbler, whatever. That's part of living life; a little treat if you will. Just don't eat like 5 smores or 1/2 the cobbler or whatever ;-)

Suggestion #3) Make sure to take time think about yourself, how good you've done and how much better you feel.

Suggestion #4) Distract yourself with fun, not food.

    You can do it!!!
