I started using mfp 90 days ago and for the first 60 days I was VERY motivated to exercise...The eating part has not really been an issue for me. Anyways Lately my motivation to get up and work out has gone out the window..I know its a problem and I'm afraid that I will slowly gain the weight back if i don't get my butt back in gear, I am still loosing just by eating right I started @ 228 and I am not 200.6 but Its not coming off near as fast as it was when I first started... SO has anyone else been through this? and If so how did you motivate your self to get back on the wagon?

I'd remind myself how long it took me to get to my highest weight and that A) I don't ever want to see it again, and B) it didn't come on overnight and it won't come off overnight. It's easy to get frustrated when the weight loss isn't as fast as you'd like, but when you have a long road, a pound a week really is reasonable. Don't give up on yourself...you've come a long way already- why would you want to have to start over? Picture yourself where you'll be when you reach your goal weight and use that to get your butt in gear and workout :)
  • Amber, I also quickly lost 16 pounds starting at 220 and even though I workout my weight is not coming off as fast as it did in the beginning although I know that working out is very beneficial to me so I reach in deep to get the motivation to work out. I can already tell a change in how I workout now than when I first started and that has given me the biggest reward. I am working on my running to eventually run a 5k. I started off barely able to run a minute and now just this week I ran 9 mins straight without stopping. The 5k has now become my goal in why I work out bc the scale isnt budging although the way my clothes fit and the way I feel is awesome!!! Like she said ^^ remember where you came from 228 pounds and never look back. You got this!!!! Keep on trucking and realize that once you get skinny the weight takes longer to come off. YOU GOT THIS!!!!!

Fear is the biggest motivator that has kept me focused and disciplined. I am absolutely terrified of going back to what I used to look and feel like.
