I highly recommend that anyone who is starting a strength training program that includes squats (any program worth it's weight does) look into "Starting Strength," by Mark Rippitoe

I'm reading this now; excellent book, TONS of great information, and I'm pretty sure my squats are PERRRRFECT from his advice. Rippetoe rocks.

I have seen :So you think your can squat" before. Excellent video for learning squat form, and to remind us all that there are times where helper exercises are needed to strengthen your weak spots.

Thank you for posting this. I've been having trouble lately with lower back pain from squats. I've been meaning to find more information on proper form and so this was very timely.

I tried to follow the advice in the videos as best as I could last night, and there was no pain at all.

I also felt some muscles engaged which I haven't felt before. The weight also felt a lot easier to lift, and that's with a 5lb bump from last time.

    So again, thanks!
